In addition to shepherds, blacksmiths, farmers and miners, among others, the milliner and the consumption of bread have a constant presence throughout the history of the region.

Mirandaola Bloomery (Legazpi)

A hydraulic iron works, or bloomery, from the 16th century, where visitors can see the functioning and importance that bloomeries had in Euskal Herria. The tour is completed with a video describing the difficult living conditions of blacksmiths and their mastery when working with iron.

Igartubeiti Hamlet (Ezkio-Itsaso)

Igartubeiti is a medieval hamlet that represents the Golden Age of this type of house grouping. Its architectural restoration has been completed, and attempts to recreate the conditions and the environment of real life in the times that this hamlet acquired its full historical identity, in other words, around 1630. The intention was to make the reproduction as authentic as possible, fro the linen sheets to the arguizaolas, typical candles manufactures in Basque hamlets, or baserris. There has also been an attempt to restore the huge press, with the intention of starting to produce cider once more.
